I agree with the point you have made. You wouldn't feel trapped as many sellers sometimes do eg "if I sign a 12 week contract what happens if my agent provides an unacceptably poor service?"

I would be happy to agree to pay a higher agency fee if I was not tied into an agency agreement for a number of weeks. To me the fact that an agent was prepared to let me move to another agent, would indicate that they were confident that they would be able to sell my property within a reasonable period so that the question of me changing agent would not arise
